Learn more about ANSI/BICSI 004-2018 for Healthcare Institutions and Facilities

While smart hospitals, the fusion intelligent building, IoT, and big data are still few and far between, today’s health care facility is increasingly digitized, from health records, diagnostic and monitoring equipment, environmental controls far beyond the thermostat – even the routing office visit may be a remote interaction spanning thousands of miles. As more systems connect to the network, ICT infrastructure is required to meet both today’s needs and those of tomorrow with minimal to no effect on the overall health care mission. To address this need, ANSI/BICSI 004-2018 has been revised and expanded.

Don’t let installation be the weak link in your ICT system

Don’t let installation be the weakest link in your ICT system. ANSI/BICSI N1 describes minimum requirements and procedures for installing the infrastructure for telecommunications and ICT systems, including cabling, cabling supports and testing. More Than Words: Bloom Where YOU are Planted

Establishing a group for Women in BICSI was a dream I nurtured for many years. This dream finally gained traction in 2014 when a core group of women met to establish a format to encourage women in the industry to gather together to share their experiences. Since then we’ve had annual meetings and networking sessions, established a LinkedIn page, developed a page on the BICSI website and sponsored a female candidate to the BICSI Cabling Skills Challenge for the past five years.

Four candidates vying to be BICSI’s President-Elect

Four candidates are currently on the slate to be BICSI’s President-Elect: Carol Everett Oliver, Chris Scharrer, Gautier Humbert, Larry Gillen. Elections will take place throughout the month of September. The victorious candidate will begin their two-year terms and assume their duties during BICSI’s 2020 Winter Conference, which will take place February 9-13. Also at that time, BICSI’s current President-Elect, Todd Taylor, will assume the office of President for a two-year term.
