To create a collaborative and transparent environment, security officials are reinventing their approach to public safety, especially regarding the protection of public buildings. While keeping public buildings safe, smart, and secure is a top priority, it’s also a constant challenge.Recent advancements in cloud computing, intelligent edge, artificial intelligence, and data analytics create many new opportunities for Internet of Things (IoT) devices to improve public safety.
The Smart Gigabit Communities program, which launched in 2015 as a collaboration between US Ignite, a public-private nonprofit that seeks to accelerate the smart city movement, and the NSF (National Science Foundation), aims to help partner cities as they move toward their smart-city goals. The program includes 27 participating communities and provides access to a low-latency and ultra-fast network with local cloud computing and storage capabilities that support “highly interactive and visually immersive experiences not possible on today’s commercial internet.”
The global data center structured cabling market is projected to exhibit a 11.4% CAGR from 2018 to 2023 (forecast period) owing to high bandwidth demand from hi-speed connectivity devices and systems. The penetration of smart devices, propagation of the Internet, and the adoption of cloud-based services to centralize all resources of an organization effectivly are primary growth factors of the market.
