Webinar: Fiber-Optic Infrastructure in the Data Center

To meet exploding network bandwidth demand, 50 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s signaling lanes in server (and fiber to machine) and switch links, have emerged requiring higher speed standards. Ethernet and Fibre Channel have both either recently published (for 50 Gb/s per lane) or are developing (for 100 Gb/s per lane) new low cost, short reach standards that will utilize these lane rates, for both serial and parallel solutions. This presentation will provide an update on those standards efforts, along with the underlying market, industry, and technology trends.

White Paper: Smart Building Connectivity

This white paper from CommScope covers how to create an integrated suite of connectivity solutions; without adding layers of complexity; understand where and how key technologies such as PoE, IoT, Wireless, etc. fit.; how to flatten complexity with shared infrastructure; how to wire for the future, not just the present; the ins and outs of adding wireless connectivity.

Structured cabling solutions are key to addressing increasing demands on data centers

As the transition to a digital world continues, the pressure is on for data centers to meet the increased connectivity challenges this transition brings. Data centers must be scalable, faster and more efficient, which is driving the development of fiber-optic cable management systems. The Internet of Things is creating unprecedented demand on fixed networks, while the rise in cloud computing traffic, content delivery networks and edge computing are also having a significant impact.

Online Event: CONNECT 2021 – Emerging Applications in Data Center & Enterprise Networks

Network connectivity has never been more critical to an organization’s operations than it is today. From boardrooms to courtrooms and from learning centers to data centers, connectivity requirements related to remote working, data streaming, building management and other applications are essential for business continuity. This multi-day online learning opportunity provides the in-depth information ICT professionals need to address today’s challenges and embrace tomorrow’s opportunities.

100GbE data center shipments surpass 10GbE for first time: Report

Total shipments of 100 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) data center switch ports increased more than 20% during the full year of 2020, according to a recent report from Crehan Research Inc.
This robust increase, combined with a continuing decline in 10GbE shipments, resulted in 100GbE surpassing 10GbE to become the most widely deployed data center Ethernet switch connection speed, finds the researcher.

HyperLight integrated optical engine pushes Terabit data with lower power consumption

To address the soaring energy consumption for Ethernet, data centers and 5G, HyperLight has designed an integrated electro-optic modulator capable of achieving sub-volt modulators with a 3-dB bandwidth > 100 GHz, a previously impossible voltage-bandwidth achievement. The broadband electro-optic PIC could lead to orders of magnitude energy consumption reduction for next generation optical networking.
