In this podcast, TIA’s CEO David Stehlin, shares insights on how 5G promises to transform our lives and our economy by offering expanded network connectivity, speed, and capacity. Insights include: How the advent of 5G will change current network setups; Why 5G’s digital transformation is emerging at this time, and what is needed to ensure its success; the risks to the global supply chain as new technologies are added to networks; and how businesses can take steps to ensure a secure supply chain.
AFL to launch Xpress Fiber Management (XFM-28) dual access module panel. Designed to maximize module capacity through both front and rear access in four rack units (RUs), the panel is billed as ideal for use where additional rack space is unavailable. The XFM-28 doubles the capacity of traditional 14-slot, front-access only 4RU panels and offers 28 slots to accommodate AFL’s LGX modules (14 front and 14 rear). Lightweight and robust, the panel offers routing flexibility.
The Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, 5G and the rise of the edge have been catalysts for the growth of opportunities to derive new data-driven business value. The five hottest trends include: mass capacity storage devices deployed in the public cloud; open architectures will continue to be in demand; data security and protection will become even more important; and innovation and collaboration will continue to drive the trend toward better connectivity.
By enabling higher speeds, lower latencies, and more #M2M connections, the arrival of #5G #networking is already sparking a revolution amongst #datacenters. Entire industries are simultaneously planning for a new era of connectivity and bracing themselves for what is set to be one of the most influential roll-outs in technological history. And there’s more to come.
To fulfill the growing demand for bandwidth driven by Cloud services, IoT and interconnected infrastructures, dark fiber providers have entered the market and are working to provide massive bandwidth, low latency, and high quality connectivity to the end customer in the form of raw glass: dark fiber. This article explains the basic concepts of fiber optics and the difference between dark fiber, lit fiber and wavelengths. You can learn about the pros and cons of dark fiber versus lit services from carriers.
Rosenberger OSI and FiberCon are working together to develop an MTP®/MPO version of FiberCon’s CrossCon® system to further optimize data center operations.
The Global VCSEL Market was valued at USD 1.65 Billion in 2018; it is expected to reach USD 4.86 Billion by the end of the forecast period at a CAGR of 17.1%. The factors responsible for the growth of the VCSEL market include the growing adoption of VCSEL in automotive electronics applications, increasing usage of VCSEL in data communications.
Rosenberger OSI completed a fiber installation for German utility TenneT, upgrading TenneT’s control room with workstations and training workplaces linked via OM4 multimode fiber. The control room upgrade effort, dubbed “KVM Matrix,” enhances TenneT’s ability to use these control centers to monitor the operating status of its networks and their interaction with its data center.
