AFL rolls out OFI-BIPMe optical fiber identifier

AFL has unveiled its OFI-BIPMe, an optical fiber identifier technicians can use to determine if a fiber is live, the transmission direction, and the relative core power.
The OFI-BIPMe is a cousin to the previously introduced OFI-BIPM. It offers a lower price point for applications that do not require advanced PON functions such as the capability to detect ONTs.

Pearson Technologies updates FTTH/PON hands-on training programs

Pearson Technologies recently updated three Fiber-To-The-Home/Passive Optical Network (FTTH/PON) hands-on training programs. One is an installation program, another a design program, and the third is a combination of design and installation. “Since the principles for design and installation of both FTTH/PON and optical LANs are similar, these programs develop the knowledge, skills and abilities (SKAs) for both,” Pearson Technologies said when announcing the updates.

Legrand unveils cassette-less fiber interconnect system

At the 2021 BICSI Fall Conference (Aug. 22 – 26) in Las Vegas, Legrand unveiled its latest fiber technology advancement, the Infinium acclAIM Fiber Solution platform.
As part of Legrand’s larger fiber offering, the company contends the Infinium accIAIM Fiber interconnect platform “redefines fiber connectivity by replacing pre-terminated cassette-based solutions with direct connections, to deliver the lowest insertion loss available on the market.”
