Join the conversation during our Modernizing the Data Center online Summit as experts discuss what technologies and trends will shape the #DataCenter in 2020, intelligent network modernization strategies, and more. Spending on enterprise data center infrastructure grew by 13 percent in the last year, according to a report from Synergy Research Group. With a 23 percent growth in cloud-enabled infrastructure, IT leaders must explore avenues outside of traditional, non-cloud infrastructure if they want to future proof their data center. From SD-WAN and Software-Defined Data Centers, join infrastructure experts as they discuss what technologies and trends will shape the Data Center in 2020.
The flexibility of Ethernet encourages innovation in Layer 1 network cabling design. That was the takeaway from a panel discussion at OFC titled, “Interoperability – The Foundation of Ethernet Success.” The panel addressed the evolution of developments in Ethernet interoperability testing and the adoption of new practices that accelerate seamless integration for all participants in the ecosystem. According to the Ethernet Alliance, interoperability is becoming a critical factor for meeting product deployment schedules, reducing post-sales support issues, and ensuring that customer expectations are exceeded.
Don’t miss the two educational sessions led by OFS at the annual Fiber Connect conference, June 3-5, 2019. Their “Fiber Broadband Starter Kit” session will discuss the drivers behind the insatiable demand for bandwidth and the role of fiber in today’s network. Participants will learn the definitions and details of typical fiber network components, installation techniques, and trade-offs for different network architectures. Next up, John George, senior director of solutions and professional services for OFS will moderate a panel entitled “Fiber Broadband Case Studies for Multifamily Properties” will discuss how the growth in optical fiber to Multiple Dwelling Units (MDU) and Multiple Tenant Units (MTU) offers both challenges and opportunities to service providers.
