In the data center space, we have seen an increase in speeds from Megabits per second (Mbits/sec) to Gigabits per second (Gbits/sec). During this time we have seen three MPO/MTP polarity methods approved as a standard from the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) within the ANSI/TIA-568 series of standard documents. This article discusses the three polarity methods and their tradeoffs.
