It’s obvious that data centers create a lot of heat. And that IT equipment will overheat without cooling. What’s not so obvious is how much heat is too much, and what is the most efficient way to get rid of it. For many years a lot of energy was spent cooling data centers to temperatures below what was required. This article looks at current thinking and current cooling techniques.
